Castle Towers is a shopping center in Castle Hill, NSW, Australia. The challenge was to create a magazine for the Autumn Winter season that was perceived as luxurious yet accessible. The request was to create an elegant layout with golden tones and a deep palette colour that worked well with the upcoming trends and products provided by the fashion brands displayed in the magazine.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT, ART DIRECTION AND LAYOUT DESIGN
My inspiration was golden Art Deco elements, silks, velvet, dry flowers and dark photography.
With that in mind, I created a deep and sumptuous palette that stimulated the senses and brought together warm tones and deep burgundies. I provided detailed mood boards for the talent fashion shoot in Melbourne.
The next challenge was to interact with in-house brand labels that supplied their imagery and to make it all flow nicely.
The still photos shoot was in Sydney. Working together with the stylist and photographer the images translated the concept beautifully and exquisite balance between beauty and extravagance.
